I don't have my 14-50 on Plugshare and don't feel bad either

What a fucking joke.

My likelihood of ever buying one of these things continues to diminish. Though it seems likely that someone will figure out a way to "share" these manuals and before too long they'll be on eBay.

Why is it a joke?

Apparently that model is already being used by other automakers (I saw Honda mentioned...)

Not sure if this has been discussed before, or not. But . . . what happens to the Model S if oil goes lower and stays lower??

If gas stays at 1.50 a gallon, will the Model S, and/or Tesla in general become the next Tucker??

I doubt it, simply because Teslas are now often bought instead of BMW 7s or Mercedes S-classes, etc. They have succeeded as a high end super sedan, not strictly as a "electric car". People aren't buying them to save money on gas. If there is a fuel incentive, it's to feel good about "being green".

Cheap gas hurts the low-end electrics and hybrids.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Tesla is charging crack pipe money compared to other manufacturers.

Honda
https://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/logon.asp

$10.00 - day
$50.00 - 30 days
$350.00 - 365 days

Ford
http://www.motorcraftservice.com/vdi...d=pricing_info

$10.95 - 72 hours
$19.95 - 30 days
$109.95 - 365 days

And the Tesla link you provided shows a $3k cost for an annual subscription, not the (already laughable) $1k.

Shop manuals have always been kinda expensive compared to what you'd want, but big books are expensive to print and bind. Without the physical production costs, the online pricing of non-Tesla makes is outrageous. The Tesla pricing is vomit inducing.
