I saw a Lucid Air on my way to work this morning. Didn't get a pic because, well, I was driving, and the phone mount in the Cayman is down near the shifter.

Pretty striking car. I know they're insane money but it looked expensive, contrasted against the Model S which looks ... not expensive.

I've seen a few around Houston and drove by the Lucid store a couple months ago (they had ~20 out front).

I'm not a fan of the exterior design. Looks kind of boring to me. Also looks smaller than a Model S, although I'm sure its similar in size (maybe a bit shorter)...

When I went to the grocery store last weekend, there was both an Aston Martin Rapide and a Jaguar iPace in the parking lot. I haven't seen a Rapide in ages (saw a few in Scottsdale when they were new), and I think the last time I saw an iPace was a wrecked one at the same body shop that repaired my Tesla (it was there when I had to take the Tesla in to fix pealing paint on one of the rocker panels repainted after the accident -- about 9 months after the original repair was complete...)

I’ve seen a few Lucids on the road. They are a little anonymous but they have a lot of presence; they have way more gravitas than anything Mercedes is building right now.

Which phone Mount did you get? I still don’t have anything other than “throw it on the seat.”

I don't love the lines of the Air, but yeah, it has real presence.

I got the Rennline mag mount. It's expensive for what it is, but it's well-made and I like it.

I always think is funny when you see telsa and other luxury cars with iphones mounted up in front of fancy OEM nav.

I saw a new Bugatti yesterday, no pic since I was riding my bike.

I truly despise OEM Nav systems (and didn't order it in my case) but there aren't a lot of good places to put a phone in a Cayman and I still don't want to block the screen. to the right of the shifter was the least bad option

Have only seen 1 lucid so far and it definitely has road presence. Sounds like they are having trouble selling them though and you can get pretty good deals on lightly used ones (relative to their original MSRPs). I just wouldn’t want to risk buying such an expensive product from a company whose future is so tenuous.

Now if only Taycans would experience similar depreciation…

An old friend, and co-worker some 20 years ago recently moved from NJ to the Laguna Beach area of CA. When he moved to NJ from England, he imported his Panther Lima with him, and it has now joined him again in California.

He doesn't drive it often, but likes to show it on weekends.
