Ok...

Unless someone else wants to do it, I will start a new "Fantasy BAT" thread on Saturday with final rules (for the first instance; if they don't work, we can adjust) and cars to peg value. (ZBB, I'll include this one since you asked.)

Can we get a vote on Price is Right rules vs closest to gavel under or over?

I vote closest, under or over.

If / when we expand, I had another idea yesterday. We could also pick two auctions and guess which will go for more. This came to me yesterday when there was a Diablo and a 911R that were within a few thousand of each other and both ending at the same time. I think the Diablo went for $406k and the R went for $410k.

Also, here's another good one for the first week:

4,700-Mile 2005 BMW M3 Coupe 6-Speed with thirty minutes remaining and currently at $80k. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...ign=2021-11-29

Personally I much rather have a low mileage, manual 997.2 C2S for what this is going to sell for.

Edit: It sold for $91k plus BaT fee. Crazy….

Yeah, that's stupid. We're now into a world where cars that I owned new are collectors items...and I mean, I'm here to tell you that the E46 M3 is really just not that good. I don't understand the nostalgia!

I was thinking about this, and I guess I've driven every generation M3, including both US and Nick's sort-of-EU S50B32 E36--though obvs not rare specials like the E30 Evo. The E46 was my least favorite of all of them. It was the one generation where I came to believe that the base car was better than the M version. The engine was neat but the rest of the driveline was kind of a mess, with lots of driveline lash that made it sort of ill-tempered around town--and the suspension never felt quite right, either.

The 330 was a better car, even if it was slower.
