I only spoke with two dealers here. It's possible if I called around I could get an allocation. Based on what the two dealers told me though, that's unlikely. Maybe FC just got really lucky, or the dealer was lying to get a deposit.

But I got to thinking, this is an ideal scenario for me. I like the anticipation better than the part where there is spending of actual money. So the longer I'm on the wait list, really the happier I am.

EDIT: Wow, FC, that is fast. Interesting that the dealers were in different positions on that front. All dealers in Boston?
The dealer who had one ready was clyde's contact.

Reading forums, there appears to be a ridiculous wait for Spyders, whereas Boxster GTS are more easy to get, but who knows.

Hm, that's weird...because I think that's also who JV and I spoke to?

(I also have my name on a list at another dealer, as well).

I was asking about the Cayman GTS, not the Boxster. It's possible that Boxsters have a shorter list than Caymans...?

I was going to say, that's impressive. Josh, I can talk to Herb Chambers for you.

I was hoping for closer to 60k based on the ads I see.

Email from my dealer today:

Earlier this month, I reached out to you with an exclusive offer to purchase your 2018 BMW M3 Sedan. Pre-owned car values are at an all-time high, and your vehicle may be worth up to $61,100.* I’ve also crafted an upgrade offer exclusively to meet your needs, which I’d love to review with you.

That's tempting.
