Except you can’t buy a 6MT 992 GT3 In California apparently.

Values of 991 GT3s just ticked up, probably.

That's what I thought. And even if you're willing to pay an ADM, I bet you still have to be on some sort of VIP list w/ the dealer.

This is a nice looking car. But it's a 79, so peak malaise, and it's a series of photos taken with an ipad (literally) and it's already 35 grand.

That's far from the best SC I've seen there, but they are generally peak 911 beauty and the most 911ish of them all.

I mean...the short hood cars weren't really appreciated until recently, and I don't know that the SCs looked much better than the Carreras. Isn't the only difference the air dam on the front?

In any event, for a long time those late 70/early 80 cars represented a trough between the later G-body Carreras and the earlier long hoods. I think they're still worth less, but "less" in this case still means "a metric shit ton."

Yeah I can remember looking at SCs about 8 years ago with a buddy of mine (who ultimatley ended up with a 991). I think they were generally in the mid teens from what I can remember. That being said, BAT prices tend to be "all the money", and are probably not representative of the market as a whole. I think I really only love the look of this era 911 in turbo or "turbo look" form with the whale tail, wide rear fenders, etc. Guess i'm more of a long hood guy in terms of aesthetics.

Beauty, eye, beholder. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the Carerras or turbos of 930 of that same general era, but there's something about the simplistic, taut, muscular, unadorned look that strikes me as "right" for what it is.

The whale tail and extra wide hips are fine, and I think they'repretty special, too, but the extras detract from the elemental, IMO.

They were also the last of the inherently dangerous ones (the 930s to a greater extent), with nothing but driver ability availability to mitigate and use those same dangerous characteristics to also be fast. That has always made it more pure in my head.
