This one needs a manual conversion bad.

Yes, that's a very low-spec and bland color and wheel combo, but less that $30k seems like a pretty good deal for a .2 car.

Or an S62 / 6-speed swap.

Also... um. What?

I think that was a great price. Love the 987.2S.

This would be fun - if for nothing other than the novelty of it....

Manual 6 cylinder W126 LWB S-Class.....
The only thing I would do is change out the headlights back to the Euro style.

+100

The steering wheel is also a bit dated.

To be honest, a manual likely adds nothing to the experience of driving that car. But I still want it.

As much a I love 80s Mercedes sedans (and wagons), I have a hard time figuring out how they'd fit in. At this point, I think they're too old to use as daily drivers but at the same time, they're not exactly fun weekend cars either. I picture taking something like this out on a sunny weekend morning to get coffee or something-- but that'd only make sense if I had room for 4+ cars.

Yeah, it's basically a Radwood/Cars and Coffee machine at this point. But it's pretty fucking cool, especially once you swap the headlights.

Another E36/S54 swap. Great color. Seems like maybe some shortcuts taken though the seller is a bit defensive about it.

If I still had my 300SD, I would drive it daily. Absolutely - Sold it the car with 270,000 miles - by now, would probably have well over 500k on it. Still - I am coming to grips that the E38 is on its last legs (at least with me), so... I am at the point of 'thinking about thinking' about what I would get to replace it.
I have the E23 and drove that last summer straight - for several weeks. But that car, while kinda fun and novel - don't feel for it as a daily use car.

But - Just about any 80's Mercedes would work that way for me - YMMV as always.
