Didn't watch the whole video but do remember from when I inherited the 2nd RX8 that the rotary engine was not a great engine to modify, lots of money and little results if I recall correctly.

Yes, which is why there are so many empty Corvette engine bays and so many extra FD rotaries lying around--people keep putting V8s into RX-7s.

The FD RX-7 TT motor made huge power when modified, especially given the time. And it's light and small. The RX-8 motor doesn't really hold a candle to to that.
