that is super cool. I bet if flexes like a wet noodle, but that is part of the charm.

How it’s only $48k is incomprehensible. Epic famous GT1 block and manual. Wow.
Sold for 64K. Still seems like a solid deal for that car, though.

That’s still a great price for last of the Mezger engine Turbo’s with a manual.

It’s not untrue.

It never bothered me because my driving life started with an 84 Chevy cavalier. With that baseline everything is relative.

I think the 40th is a damn cool car though.

I always thought the 50th anniversary ones were well done, especially the interior (LOVE the hounds tooth). Shame they PDK'ed it

The 2004 996 C2 is the first 911 I ever drove. I remember loving it back in ~2008. The interior does suck. I do like that steering wheel and the stick-shift though. That's about it.

The exterior is awful for Porsche standards, but it's not objectively awful and it was helped a lot by the updated headlamps.

With the IMS issue added on top of it, it would have to be a bargain.

There are tons of engine issues with most Porsche generations.

I don’t mind the IMS because you can address it easily.

You can’t address the chronic need to adjust the valves on 964s or the clogged air injectors on 993s.

It’s more like the front radiator lines on a Watercooled Mezger engine or the head bolts on a 2.7. Part of the provenance.

And to the point made above: PDK is frightfully expensive out of warranty. It’s not a repairable thing as of yet. It’s a replacement item and at 10-15k, that’s not what I’d call an addressable item.
