Garage lift

So things aren't working out too well ... it seems I either move in with FC or I'm never getting a lift

There just isn't enough ceiling height to allow a lift on the left side of the garage, my contractor told me this today but of course I just spent the last 20 minutes in my attic above the garage with my measuring tape and he is absolutely right, it cannot work unless I raise the roof of my house which is a whole different story being we were considering it last year but it is a $50k project to redo the outside of the house and that doesn’t include the cost of the garage to get it able to have a lift.

So unless I do it on the right side which is not happening because I do not want a lift in the middle of my garage I guess I will have to live through those of you that have more garages then me.

do you have room on the property to put another bay to the left of the cayman? Might be cheaper to build to the left then it would be to build up.

Wish I did have the room but that is going into the circular driveway ... believe me I have thought through every possibility and it seems it is not going to happen

That sucks man. I suppose there is no chance to do what I did and build a detached garage on another spot in the property, right?

I already expanded both sides and am maxed out so really my only option is to change the roofline which is a possibility in the future if we decide to redo the outside of my house (again )

Love it. I was thinking something like that must exist. Can't help but wonder about serviceability or access if it breaks down or power is out. There are other things to consider too (corrosion, humidity, drainage, permits, EPA, etc.).

But very cool.
