That's precisely it from my perspective.

I didn't love commuting in the Boxster. The visibility is not great with the top up. So most of the time I'd end up driving the Mazda, and the Boxster would sit.

But those one or two trips a year when Marisa and I took the Boxster up to Pennsylvania, it was magical on twisty two-lane. Nothing better. And I kept it four years longer than I otherwise would have just for that use case. It was the complete package. Excellent engine, excellent gearbox, great road feel and handling, comfortable seats. The engine soundtrack alone made the ownership experience.

We're going up there in three weeks and it's going to be a major bummer to not have the Boxster on the trip.
