MAF and Throttle body cleaning
Yesterday I finished a bunch of preventive maintenance stuff on the Miata as it has 9.5 years and 95k miles now.
- Accessory belt - Thermostat housing - Coolant tank - Coolant flush - MAF and throttle body cleaning The MAF and TB were both pretty dirty. The TB had to come out for the (PITA) thermostat job, so I figured I'd clean it. The thing is, this is my first time cleaning such items on any car. People claim it improves idling, mpg, etc. I drove the car around to check the cooling system and did not notice a big difference, but I am curious how often (if at all) you guys do this. Anyway, the Miata should be good for a while other than diff and transmission fluid changes that were done last at the 60k mile service in 2014. That will wait until next year.
