There are only a few auction houses that specialize in classic cars -- RM and Gooding come to mind (Barrett-Jackson is more about volume than the types of cars RM and Gooding specialize in). David Gooding used to run RM before he left to do his own gig -- and having been to both RM and Gooding auctions in Scottsdale and in Pebble, I really prefer Gooding (its worth getting a ticket just to walk around the displays before the auction...)
