i blew by it on my way to an errand at lunch.

the owner was puttering along.

as Z wrote, it's a beautiful car to behold in person. gosh, the rear fenders are so large the car really looks like J.Lo or something.

(makes the standard 996 look really homely, though).

the 996 looks too modern and smooth.

it's why it's probably more aerodynamic, has better downforce and has better airflow to the engine.

but i miss the 993 curves a lot and when i saw that 997S on the road today, i could not help but stare at that beautiful shape on the road.

so pretty.

(so pricey, too!).

i'd never get a model of the 996, but i have one of my old 993 (same color, too) and i would like to have a 997.

i wouldn't get a Ford GT. maybe a GT40. but the Ford GT does not quite have that emotional appeal to me anymore.

since the 997 came out I dont like the look of the 996 at all, runny eggs for headlinghts just look bad. 993 or 997 for me based on looks. Oddly before the 997 came out I thought the 996 looked ok, I must of been biased since it was latest and greatest 911.

give me a 996 turbo or GT2/3 and I will eat my own words
