540i? (Split from "Nice M3")
That M3 is sweet. But it would be somewhat pointless for me.
You guys got me started looking at '01-ish 540i 6-spds now. There is a sweet one at AutoAdvantage. (http://www.autoadvantage.net/MultiPi....htm#mainImage) Hmmm... |

If you can stand the color and the price is within your range, there's a guy on bimmerfest selling a really clean 2002 with something like 14,000 miles. The "downside"? It's dark green. The plus? His price is very reasonable-- about $1,000 above the wholesale number I get for that car from my book. Most people selling there cars online are looking for silly sums like $5,000+ over wholesale.

I've seen that post repeatedly. The pics look black and I begin to drool until I realize that it's green. I can't stand green.

Someone will like it and get a great car for a very fair price. The only thing is that Green is a tough color to sell these days, so ths guy might have some trouble selling it. The good news is that the buyer will probably end up getting a killer deal if the guy has to drop the price any more to make the sale. At a certain point, the car becomes a steal, and I don't care what color it is.
TD-- why not put on dark shades so that the car looks black in person, too?

In a couple of years, THESE are going to be awesome buys:
2003 540i/6 with the M5-aerodynamics and 18" M-parallels

My Q45 was called "Emerald Green." It's one of the darkest greens I've seen. Let a subtle layer of dust fall on it and it's black...until you look real close.
Even though I'm suffer from it too, I don't understand why we get so hung up on car colors when buying used. Maybe a topic for another thread?

Ok, the last suggestion for now (I hope): how about that M5 that they have? Anyone have any experience with that place and know it there is room in those prices? I know you love pre-01 models because they don't have the angel eyes.
