Looks pretty good. I am not sure about the back. Then again, the pictures are really crappy and who knows how much is being covered up.

Frankly, I'd like as much as anyone else to have a 997 911 instead of a Boxster (however it turns out). The thing is, I want a convertible at one point, and I just don't like 911 cabrios. So the Boxster is a nice car, cheaper, and looks great with the top down.

We'll see. I am not in the market for any kind of 3rd car for at least 6 years anyway. We need to get a house and a wagon first.

IMO, it looks great. What are the specs and expected price range?

I may have to start planting seeds now.

I have only heard... "GT3-like level of performance." That is good enough for me.

Heck if it turns out that good, I may forgoe the whole roadster thing and get a used coupe down the road.

Way to go Bonoboy!!

They are trying like hell to mak eit look ike a 996. Funny how you can see the real bumper, etc through the C4S fron fender grill.

I love it. Modern yet retro.

Does that mean GT3-like price?

:scared: I hope not! It would be nice to be able to get a stripped base 997 for under 70K.

no. it does not necessarily mean GT3 like price, it just means idiots who pony now for the GT3 at msrp or more are going to be sore because the 997 will be damn close in spec in "base" trim.

i'm not sure if they're going to punch the engine out to 3.8litres or not (there's room) but expect at least 350hp to 370hp. and then there is talk of a v8 (dunno about this).

the base price right now is 68,900 and it might go up a little bit, but i wouldn't expect a quantum leap.

(boy, those 996s sure will be cheap by then. )
