After the E90’s brake upgrade, this weekend’s other project was to attack the X5’s remaining rear suspension. It’s annoyingly fiddly, and I think I’m still feeling some post vaccination fatigue, because that took a lot more out of me than it usually does. Everything is swapped at this point (both upper control arms replaced, balljoint pressed out and replaced, bizarre “integral link” replaced, swaybar end links…. Now I just need to compress the suspension and torque everything. Oh yeah, and swap out the rear brakes. They’re below minimum spec, so I’m installing upgraded vented rear rotors and calipers to match. No actual change in braking power, just not the offensively cheesy solid disc.

I have to say that the suspension design is *weird.* I don’t get it.
