Quick update ... I lent it to a friend a few weeks ago who took a road trip from Long Island to the Berkshires ... part of that ride includes the Taconic parkway where there are usually police along the way.

Bottom line ... Waze gave a little more or the same warning as the Escort, the Escort had false alarms when passing big stores like Supermarkets, etc. The escort did not pick up anything Waze didn't.

Basically as long as you are careful when on a road trip without other cars (less Waze drivers/warnings) and follow some basic smart driving rules the radar detector really isn't necessary for the type of trips we take.

For the cost of $650.00 getting a ticket would probably be less money.

Also I really didn't like the size and the whole cord issue really is annoying, yes I know you could hard wire it but I take very few road trips and it's not worth it for the few times it would be used.

I ended up returning it.
