So I get up there and asked for the guy who who sent the email. The guy was some young person being escorted by an older salesman. The young guy barely spoke english so the older guy explained they just got it in so it is being prepped so not available for a few hours. He then precedes to tell me they don't let people test drive them anyhow.  I said that is not what the young guy told me and he just looks at me. So I left, dealer didn't seem to care that they wasted my time since I guess they have people lined up for it.

Ugh..yeah that's very annoying. I got a similar runaround when I wanted to test drive a VW GTI last year. Since I was in the area, I ended up going across the street to the Porsche dealer and after a minutes of chatting basically tossed me the keys to a 120k Taycan and said "have fun". I almost wanted to drive it over to the VW dealer and say something, but I knew the irony would be lost on them.
