Of course, I own a Miata (never had considered it a car for my boys to eventually drive often and I still think it's a bad idea), and as I mentioned on an earlier waffling thread, would definitely consider a GTI (or other Golf) for them to use.
I am just surprised the Miata and GTI are up near the top. They seem like cars that would get kids to drive fast/irresponsibly and thus be expensive to insure.

While cost is a consideration safety is the most important though I already know we all feel this way. It blows my mind some people get their kids what is considered a cool car like the Jeep Wrangler 4 door and the crash ratings are terrible, my nephew has an older version and it drives me crazy.
