I spent a week in their lab in SC a couple of years ago. My last company sold (sells) millions in test equipment to Michelin and other tire manufacturers every year. As I understand it, they primarily make truck/SUV tires in the US.
I still feel Michelin is at the cutting edge of tire technology. Not to say they are necessarily ahead of other reputable manufacturers, but they tend to produce a very well-rounded tire (no pun intended).
