I agree, but if locating the puncture and making the repair means standing/kneeling on the shoulder of the Beltway for 30 seconds longer than it would take to change to a spare, I'd rather go with the spare, leaving the repair for a less dangerous and stressful environment.

Only a small portion of my lifetime tire failures have been non-repairable, but at least half of them needed the wheel removed from the car to find the puncture and sometimes finding it took some effort and time.
