Similar to Mazda getting only 155hp out of the ND Miata. Now they offer 30hp more. I bet they could squeeze even more.

BMW shipped a 268hp N52 from the factory. I think that 300hp in a streetable trim is very doable.
Edit: For comparison, I’m told that a no boost N55 produces a fairly tragic 180hp.
