But I would never, for example, have wanderlust about a McLaren or a new C8 just because it’s PDK. That just has zero appeal to me. I get the argument that “it’s faster” but isn’t it even more amazing if “I’m keeping up with you with three pedals”?

This is 100% me. We got the 911 primarily because it offered a manual. I drive the 135 w/ manual daily to from work on a 22mile commute that varies from highway to stop and go congestion and have no issue popping in and out of neutral to sit through 4 red lights.
