For me the only real questions circle around the manual conversion. How good is that shop? How many of these have they done? How do people think about them?

It might be fine and value enhancing. It might make the car undriveable and unsellable. The answer is probably knowable, but that’s where I’d focus.

As for the rest of it…I mean it will cost a lot to keep running. It’s a Lamborghini, basically, and is built for owners who DGAF about service costs. And the parts that aren’t Lamborghini parts are still old VAG parts, which doesn’t fill me with confidence.

That's not a deal breaker, you just have to be ready for it. It’s not going to break you; you can always sell it and move on. You just have to treat it like going to the casino. Pick a dollar value you’re comfortable spending on maintenance and when it exceeds that, sell it.

I’ve never driven one of these, so I can’t really comment on what the driving experience is like. They’ve never really done anything for me, looks-wise, but it it’s your jam you should drive one and see if you like it!

Alan will probably have views on this; I think he’s the only one on here that’s owned one.
