Yes, Porsche will let you disable ASS in individual (and it’s disabled by default in Sport and Sport plus), but the car always defaults to normal — you have to select a mode other than that every time you drive the car to defeat ASS.
That lets Porsche count the gains from ASS in its (fleet, I think) fuel economy figures. I posted the CFR part somewhere here a while ago.
My 2016 M3 lets you kill ASS and leave it disabled on restart without having to switch modes.
