what makes it even more challenging is that as we get older, there are subtleties and nuances in driving cars that we can appreciate that we might not have a decade ago.
someone told me recently, after a WOT run in the old 996, "this must be the fastest car you've ever owned". and factually, it's not. the C6 Z06 was. and for fanboi bench racing, it was an 11.6 second quarter mile car. but it lacked a lot of intangibles.
i think the reality is that this is why as we age, the more we turn to vintage cars?
