Were you sitting on a shoulder? Parking lot? Other?

Changing a driver side flat on the inner loop of the Capital Beltway in great midday weather just above the Dulles Access Road where there was barely enough shoulder to stop was one of the singular most frightening experiences of my life a couple years ago. I mean, there was enough room, but enough room to do it safely. There was a cushion between the furthest reach of any part of my body and the travel lane, but not enough cushion. I don't know why I actually stopped or elected to change the tire where I did instead of driving on until there was a safer spot.

Do you need to go pick up the new/repaired tire and wheel or do they come out and swap for you?
