I actually cross-shopped it with the X4 4.0, and found the BMW to be a better value. Like all Porsches, the Macan gets very expensive very quickly as you add the goodies. We found this also with the Cayenne. We drove the Cayenne S and it blew our minds, but would have cost about $20k more than the comparable X5.

But, I get choosing the P-car over the BMW if you can be disciplined about options.
