It is interesting you bring this up, I was in South Florida in February and we rented an Infiniti Q50 with the big engine and it was RWD. I found that even that car I preferred AWD. The rear of the car coming out under Hard acceleration or in the rain was not 'fun', I want grip.
Sports cars I feel differently with plus with the Mid engine and rear engine cars I have they grip really well.
BTW the car overall was excellent, I liked it very much.
