I called the local Porsche dealer and asked them the likelihood of Porsche doing a goodwill repair on this. They said they couldn't really determine, but they've had very few requests for goodwill repairs turned down. It's a $150 diagnostic fee for them to check the car out, determine that it is the HPFP, and make the request. If Porsche agrees, that gets refunded to me and I pay nothing. If they turn it down, I'm out $150, but I get confirmation that my diagnosis was correct.

As much as I hate going to dealerships, I'm going to do it. I set up an appointment for Wednesday of next week. Worst case I'm out $150, which is annoying, but meh. Biggest annoyance is I'll have to tow it down... by the time I got home my top speed had been reduced to about 30MPH.

The dealership is right next to the one that is doing the airbag recall on my race car on Friday of next week.
