Unfortunately that seems to be how the Dinan that went into my m3 was removed. I rarely buy things from a distance and when I do, something tends to go wrong. In this case, the hangers/flange were missing, so I had to sacrifice my low mileage stock exhaust for the piping.
Not a fan of folks who use saws to remove mufflers (and then sell those mufflers).
