Mildly OT:

When these units failed en mass in the summer of 2001, there were none available for several months, and we had people calling all the time asking if the parts were available. Each day, we got more and more calls to add people to the list. Many people were not happy about having their car's AC dead during the summer.

The following year (2002), it was the IHKA module on the E36s that shit the bed, and lots of E36 owners went without AC all summer. Ironically enough, the professor of a sociology course I took this fall was one of the "victims", so every time I had class on a warm day, I would remember her showing up at the dealership every week the summer before to inquire on whether or not we had gotten the part in yet.
