My 981S battery is coming up on 9 years. It measures great and starts well. This car is parked in my one spot that has power so in the winter, if it doesn't get driven, it's on a tender at least every two weeks. Not sure how the first owner kept it in years 0 to 3.
My 340i is at six years and beginning to give warning signs. I'm getting a battery low warning on a few of the coldest days of the year. I've found in the f30 forum that bmw 'tuned' the battery warning extremely conservatively, so folks in Canada e.g. get the warning on a regular basis, even with brand new cars. I fully charged the battery but the warning cropped up after a week.
The f10 535i only made it to seven years. I remember about seven for the e39's as well.
