Didn't realize this, but apparently Audi briefly offered a plugin version of the A7 here (so basically the same car): https://www.edmunds.com/audi/a7/2022/plug-in-hybrid/

Unfortunately, they used a 4 cylinder engine with the hybrid system. I think that's what killed many of these plugins here in the US atleast in the luxury segment; when you're spending over 60k you really dont want to hear or feel a 4 cylinder. Plus, its even more jarring in a hybrid since the EV mode would be silent and smooth. BMW finally got this when they introdcued the 45e (and now 50e) version of their hybrid system and it seems to doing quite well. I suspect that Audi doesn't have a PHEV that works with their 6 cylinder engines (Porsche does but they use a small battery that yields under 20 miles of range). I think VW group is more focused on full BEVs right now.
