Not saying the fix discussed on the message board you linked didn't work. It just seems fishy.
My Boxster has made a really odd rattling noise, more often in really cold weather, that I've never been able to track down in 60,000 miles of driving. It drives me nuts. I feel your pain.

Yeah, I hope I didn't fuck it up in my zeal to do the fix. I did seal it back up with silicone, but who knows if that will hold?
