I don't mind folding hardtops on two-seaters, where the mechanism can be made small and light and designed to fit in the same space as the soft top, as it does with the Mazda Miata.
On large cars I'm not a fan; it's too cumbersome - three pieces, lots of mass and levers and stuff ...... eh, I like the soft top.
The price of the 128 soft top doesn't seem too bad.
