But I think that only applies if you actually take delivery there- if you get it shipped you dont have to pay sales tax there. I bought a car in California but took delivery in Washington (the old Yukon if you recall that one...).
Paid only WA sales tax. Granted - WA tax is/was higher than CA - but still, it was figured straight away (CA tax never figured into the transaction).
