In Maryland, which sounds similar to what you’ll get, I always changed over to performance snows on winter wheels for the RWD cars and the AWD cars by Halloween. And ran summers by mid to late April. The performance snows did fine through warm winter days. No deep snow, though. Like Bren says, we often got caught in something nasty the forecasters did not predict by the drive home. Or coming back from the airport after a business trip...
