The S54 will rev pretty well. There are enough folks running daily to 9k that I plan to do that when I put mine in the E30 M3. I’d probably not run that above 3rd gear, mind you.

Oh.
I thought s54 obviously. And in the later years BMW did running updates to this engine so it lessens the earlier issues with remain rod bearing wear? Was that just oil starvation? Or was it the bearing material?
