I guess I kinda learned to drive in a Volvo 240. My mom drove one from the late 70's until the early 2000's.

I understand nostalgia and all that but it's interesting to me that people get excited about these cars. They kinda drove like tanks. Painfully slow ('cept maybe the turbo models which were just slow). Coarse, loud engine. Creaky and plodding on the road. I will say they had pretty great brakes and were very reliable (and for the day, very safe).

We had an '87 Acura Legend and a '90 Volvo 240 (and a '84 5-speed Caravan ) when I was learning to drive and the Acura felt 20 years newer than the 240, not three years older.
