I don't have a video handy of the "before," but amongst the information that has been removed from the main screen are:
Power use/regen
Analog speedometer ring
Date
Time
Temp
In addition, the battery display has both reduced prominence and less detail.
In the user selectable side displays, the power usage graph has reduced detail (and has a much shittier version of the power meter integrated).
The trip odometer has lost the A and B function.
In exchange, what we get is a toy car in dead center of the screen. For vehicles with autopilot hardware (the software is still unreleased), this ostensibly will provide an overview of what the car's sensors are picking up. It's not clear what the driver is supposed to do with that information, though.
For cars like mine, which don't have any of that hardware, there's nothing to use the toy car to display other than headlight and brake light status.

Yeah, that doesn't look a move in the right direction. OTOH, if I were a Camry driver, I'd probably love it.
