Lowered expectations?

Is this a case similar to like when I was going to a nerd college people just look more attractive because the bar has been set so low, or is the i4 M50 actually not that bad in a dark color, like Tanzanite?

EDIT: Embedded picture was too large so I removed it.

EDIT 2: Yes. I know it's dark, and you have to black it out, and squint, and look at it at dusk, but still.

haha-possibly. But yeah, I agree it looks good in that color in that pic w/ those wheels. I also wonder if the car in the pic is slightly lowered? I think one thing that affects the look of most i4s I see is that they seem to have a relatively large wheel to fender gap. Could be something they do to give the battery more clearance. I've noticed that I generally think the m440 gran coupes look better and I couldn't figure out why....

I think it looks good, and Tanzanite is pretty spectacular on most things (thinking about splurging for it on the upcoming X7 order, but the huge price bump may kill that).

Well right now, the i4 M50 in Tanzanite is the leading contender if I decide to upgrade my commuter. We'll see.

I don’t mind the looks of the i4, other than the grille. But that’s a pretty big caveat, because the grille is absurdly bad.

Dark colors help hide it a bit, and it looks better with the Euro plates. Would it be a deal breaker for me? No, probably not, though it’s really disappointing that the i4 doesn’t do a better job with space efficiency. It would be a big step backward for me in terms of practicality compared to the Tesla.

Yeah. It also doesn't thrill me in profile view.

It's awful

isn't the i4 just basically an electrified 3 series? looks like one to me at least. All modern BMWs are ugly to me, some are just slightly less ugly then others.

Yes it’s an electric version of the 4 series GC

Yep. For obvious reasons, I’ve developed some immunity to the grille (at least in dark colors with extended shadowline). I actually like the rear and sides.
