How low does the "to go" mileage need to be to get an oil change under BMW maint?

My indicator says 3200 miles to go (until my second covered oil change) but the indicator lit yesterday telling me it's time for new brakes. I'd really rather not visit the dealer twice in 2-3 months.

I know it's up to the service adviser, but does anyone know the formal guideline?

Haven't brought my car to a deal in almost forever, but I think back then it was < 250 miles or something small like that.

Unless you have a really good relationship with your SA, I think you'll be making 2 trips.

I had mine say "as long as it's under 1000 I'm OK with it."

My guess is that there's no way they'll do it at 3200.

You can also go by time. If it's been 12 months since the last one, you're eligible. Otherwise there isn't much leeway.

I think the "time" interval on the E90 is 2 years.

2 years for a full service... they still change the oil and filter after 12 months regardless of the mileage that you have driven.

If it has been over 12 months since the oil has been changed, they will change that for you. If not, you usually have to be within 1000 miles on the indicator.

Since you're going in, check the production date to see if you are due for a brake fluid flush also (24 months from production date).

Production date was 03/06.

What about on the older style light bar (My e39 is down to 1 green remaining -- do I take it in when it gets to yellow?)...

When I leased my e46 330ci zhp, I got oil changed every 6 to 8k miles or so.
