It’s a momentum car

The Renault Twizy, one of the few rental options for tourists on Bermuda. It is terrible. It’s from a time (2012 was its biggest year of production) when this is what people thought made sense in EVs—“urban mobility.” It is dog slow, has very little range, and almost nothing in the way of storage. It seats two, grudgingly, but the enclosed body makes it hotter than hell. Max speed seems to be about 70 kph, if you have a death wish. Range is 60 km, maybe. There’s no hvac or stereo or anything. It’s nice in one way, in that it doesn’t take up much space—but still more than a bike or scooter. OTOH, I guess the lack of road rash is a good trade off. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...675dafb13d.jpg |
 Looks more like a personal assistant robot than a car.

I'd rather rent a scooter, LOL.

Huh, something that makes even less sense than the "Smart Car".

Bermuda is made for scooter-ing... I'd go all around the island on my 49cc (both as a tourist and the couple of times I was lucky enough to get a short gig there).

I proposed to my wife in Bermuda. We each had our own scooters and had a blast, until she had an incident of her's. If they had clutches, she would have been fine, but we came to a stop on a side street on the west end near the fort. We were on a pretty good uphill at the stop sign. She let go of her brake, gave it gas, and for a second nothing happened. She started rolling backwards down the hill when the slip clutch finally grabbed. She brought the front wheel about 3 feet off the ground, making her slide down, which twisted the throttle further open  and she completely lost the bike. Damage to the bike wasn't too bad, cracked the headlight housing, bent a turn signal.
Funny how the amount of the damages equaled exactly to our security deposit :( Jutta was shook up, a little scraped (which with the coral they add to their asphalt, could have led to a bad infection) But was Ok. An hour later when she realized how badly she scraped the gold band of her new engagement ring she lost it (it was easily repair by my jeweler) |
I learned to ride a scooter on Bermuda. A long time ago...

Scooters are awesome. I use mine at home when making quick trips to the grocery store to buy small items. It's only 3 miles away on basically traffic-free roads. Anything to feel the fresh air and feel invigorated. It's quick, fun, and I have a good time waving at die-hard Harley and crotch rocket riders when they shake their heads at me, LOL. |

I think I’d set a new rule after that. .... no more scooters we rent cars only ;) |

We returned the two scooters and got a larger Vespa (she already knew how to lean, her first husband owned a Harley) |
