Not mine… I did help facilitate the order and purchase. It finally arrived today (09.20) after sitting at Plant Spartanburg for seventeen days “waiting for carrier assignment.”

Edit/Update: Re the not mine. My father decided to downsize and order himself a new vehicle as he approaches his 80th birthday next month. He has been driving a hand-me-down, my mother’s former 2013 X5 50i M Sport (2020 X5 M50i replaced it). He missed two features from his former 2014 Lexus RX 350, the over boosted steering and blindspot detection as he has difficulty fully turning his neck. The N63TU is also far more power than he needs. The 2022 X3 30i should rectify many faults for him. He experienced a 2020 X3 30i as a rental car for a month as the electric auxiliary fan took a dump on the E70 and getting parts from BMW these days is slightly problematic. Size wise the G01 is equivalent to the E53 which he had two of.

Sweet! And inspiring that he’s still buying cars at 80 (although a little scary). Great specs, too. Is it AWD?

My father bought our 2003 325xiT from us when he was about 80 and just loved it. He had had a Volvo 850 wagon for 10 years before that, so it was definitely an improvement in handling! It was also, frankly, a relief to him to finally give up on the stick. But he did drive everywhere in “manual mode” on the step. LOL.

He drove sports cars in his youth, so he knew and loved cars.

Looks great! My neighbor just got a 2022 X5M Competition in Tanzanite II and it is quite an amazing color.

Weeks away from 80 he is still a practicing physician as well. Stopped performing surgery in 2020.

Yes, it is AWD (xDrive).

Tanzanite is beautiful in the full sun. Overcast/cloudy it looks almost black. Skyscraper Grey would have been a better color for him, but SOP for it is not until December.

I guess I shouldn't be amazed that this is a thing but

Yeah - I think it only really adds a few extra HP. He's missing out on a bunch of features though due to supply chain -- no wireless charging, no B&W stereo, and a few other options you'd expect in a $120K vehicle. Color is really stunning though.

Same for this X3. No wireless charger, no digital key, and no lumbar on the passenger seat, yet it is on the driver’s seat. The optional HK, Driving Assistance Professional Package, Parking Assistance Package, and Premium Package is currently unavailable. Naturally all the optional items are available on the M40i.

BMW got the styling right on the X3. Thank God.

They really did.

I'm sure that will change for the next model year however--extruding the same horrible new design language that's toxifying all its new cars.

Wow it is crazy you can't get those options, we were able to get the Parking Assist pkg and Exec pkg (which as you know has the premium pkg options and some other extra's) for my daughters 2021 X3 but when the car arrived it did not have the passengers seat lumbar or width adjustment which was a bit of a surprise, they gave us a $150 credit.

I see on the 2022 5 series no Parking assist package is available either (for those that don't know this package gives you all of the surround camera's in addition to the rear camera).
