that is crazy (good). Do you just have liability on it?

Yes, just liability, but with limits high enough to meet my umbrella requirements (a good bit higher than the state minimums).

I could go on for hours on how carriers price auto policies, and they all do it differently. One area they all vary is how they do driver/vehicle assignments and rating. Carriers all consider how many cars you have, how many drivers you have, and then some way to allocate out who they expect to drive each car. Some average drivers and assume there is a chance they will drive all cars. Some specifically ask you who drives which car. Some ask but actually ignore that behind the scenes and assume the worst (ex. Riskiest driver drives riskiest car, etc.) Long way of saying there are weird interactions in how they price the policies, so to throw out some made up numbers... just because you paid $1000 on avg for your first 3 cars, adding another car likely does not result in the additional +$1000 you originally expected. Sometimes in a good way, other times in a bad way.

You talked about this in one or two of the earlier insurance threads. I get what you're saying and have seen it in action. Still, I was surprised to see such a small increase in the quote that would change from 4 drivers (2 teen) in 3 cars (2 late model, 1 old) to the same 4 drivers in 4 cars (2 late model, 2 old).

I'm also wondering if this quote is different from what I would be quoted if I called. When I tried using the website to replace my 2017 Camaro with the 2020, it would have nearly doubled my premium. When I called to do the same thing, the difference was $30. :dunno:

Got the car. Picked up with 11 miles, so we took a long, backroads easy drive home. Drives great. Really quiet, with light clutch and gas pedals. No weird warming of center console, no paint blemishes, etc.

The only drama was that the dumbass dealer noticed on Mon or Tues that they only had one key. For reasons beyond comprehension, they still had not received it. They clearly shipped it snail mail. We had to make a stink and get them to agree to ship us the key home and reimburse us for the coding that we will do at the local dealer ($130). They had the car a whole week, and could not next-day ship the key and program it.

Anyhow, it's home and we are happy. Miata + M3 is a tight fit in the back garage considering I have a bunch of stuff on the sides.

Thanks. The black wheels are part of the SE trim for 2021. Lucky, 50 miles in, no trace of roof creaks despite 10F outside when we drive off from the dealer.
