Solar powered battery tenders

No, not for the tesla.

Do these work? They have a long tail of 1's in amazon reviews saying they are total shit.

Another concern is whether they can overcharge the battery. I'm thinking of this one because

a) It has a micro controller to avoid overcharging
b) Battery Tender should know WTF they're doing?

No idea whether 5W vs 10W...

I have one for the Porsche, but I'm not convinced it works. I don't know whether the cigarette lighter shuts off after X minutes.

I need to get a tender that actually hardwires into the battery. Just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Kinda wonder if their quality control is total shit. Some units work great and some don't? Also wonder what might potentially be bad and if that's a checkable and fixable thing. :dunno:

Or just the 1s are in Seattle and the 5s are in San Diego

THIS

I bet many of the bad reviews are from folks who don't know their car's control module shuts down just about everything after 10 minutes

I've decided to give a couple of these a shot. One in the truck and one in the 325is.

I ordered these:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LG8J8NJ...t_details&th=1

Conveniently, it comes with every connector type you might want. (Note that they sell them with and without tender circuitry.)
