Neat... I guess?
10 years ago I might have been interested in this. |
I could see getting a used AMG wagon in a few years if for whatever reason the M3 is gone, but it's hard to imagine there will not be a more compelling EV to choose instead.
|
Hypothetically, how quickly do people think these will depreciate? Are they going to be rare / special enough to maintain value? Or will they do the normal Audi thing of cratering?

I believe those are pretty rare so they somewhat hold their value compare to other AMG's, but ultimately they still depreciate like most cars. I imagine there is a higher floor for these for well-maintained examples after many years. In a few years, when all MT's are gone and our LR4 starts getting old, I can see getting one of these as the family car, but as I mentioned above, by then EV's may have completely taken over. I've had a fast wagon before and would love another at some point. |

Thanks. I totally agree it depends on scarcity - just wondering if anyone has thoughts on how many they'll sell new. Guess we'll see!

Here it is. Not crazy money for sure, but high mileage car and not an RS version:
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...i-s4-avant-14/ Edit: Here's an RS: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2003-audi-rs6-59/ How much bigger will the 6 be versus the 4? I remember driving the pain old A6 and A4 back in the day, and thinking the A6 was boring to drive and the A4 a lot more fun. Not sure what the RS factor brings to the table, other than power. I do like that it apparently is a bit shorter than the Mercedes wagon, which is a tad too big for my tastes. Something in between the most recent 3 wagon and the Mercedes in size would be perfect. |
Thanks WDC. The new A6 is decently large - more trunk space than a Q5 (though less than we have in the X5).
