There’s something to be said about the simplicity of those older models... the era when dealers still ordered manuals for inventory, nav wasn’t a common option and iDrive wasn’t even a thing! The Z3 still had cheaper E36 era interior plastics vs. E39/E46 that had gotten better. Still looks ok from a distance in these pics though. Late-90’s era was a good time for BMW. Bringing back a lot of memories for me of my early dealership days when I was much younger, I remember when we used to have these in the showrooms.

We had the 2.5 in Topaz. Also a 2001. And you're right about the cheap plastics. But it was also a budget car. Ours was in the high $20s.

A lot of them are pretty plain inside, but if you spent the extra money you could dress it up a bit. They had some unique colors available and the extended leather included the dash/console areas.

That sounds amazing. All the fun and easy maintenance of the S52 without the headaches of the S54. Nice build!

I think the s52 z3ms are seriously underloved. The easy 2 to 3x $$$ the s54 cars bring in comparison is silly.

I agree. My only reservation is I prefer the LCI body on the Z3.

So, thanks for the praise.

Now though, who is going to buy it?????

Perfect timing to have a real convertible for the lovely fall weather.

BTW, with the Stage 4 engine kit, it should be pushing S54 HP. :D
