Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing

Looks like the embargo lifted:

That sounds like fun.

Very cool. My guess is that it will follow in the footsteps of the Chevy SS: it'll sell poorly and then after it goes out of production it will become a cult classic and hold its value exceptionally well.

Yep. It's certainly tempting.

Given a choice based on what I've read and seen so far, I think I'd prefer the CT4-V Blackwing. I think it presents a much better value and I would be able to enjoy it more of it more thoroughly more often. But the CT5-V Blackwing would be a mighty fine substitute.

The only thing that really turns me off to them are the name designations. Mouthful to say and pain in the ass to type.

I mean, seriously, if you're a car person, what is there not to like about either?

I mean if I’m honest, my critique is the same as it was for the last Gen—it’s more power than I want or need. A naturally aspirated V8 in about a 475 hp state of tune is really what I want in a car like this.

"more power than I need" is part of my preference for the CT4 version. Not an NA V8, but...

Yeah. The reviews I read of the earlier ATS V described that engine in fairly unflattering terms, though ppl seem to think it’s better in the new car.

I’d rather have a V8 than a twin turbo V6, and the CT5 seems like the real final mic drop in a way the CT4 does not.

But I’d like to drive both to decide.

This is an uptuned and handcrafted LT4. You guys would all have fun in it — maybe less fun as an E63. But same idea.

I would totally get this car in the manual. It’s “light” at 4100 lbs.

What, no wagon?
